“In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, and in all things love.”

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Matt 28:19, 2 Cor 13:13(14), 1 Peter 1:1-2

We believe in the Father

  • Creator of all things visible and invisible - Gen. 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Heb. 11:3
  • God is love and desires the restoration of all things - Acts 3:21, 1 John 4:7-9, Rev 20-21

We believe in Jesus Christ the Son

  • The only Savior of the world - John 1:14, 29-34, 3:16-18, 4, 1 John 4:9, 13-16; 2 Pet. 3:18
  • Conceived by the Holy Spirit - Matt 1:18; Luke 1:34-35
  • Born of a virgin - Matt 1:18; Luke 1:26-27
  • Fully human and fully divine - John 1:1-2, John 10:30; 14; Phil 2:5-8; Col 2:9
  • Was crucified, died, was buried, and rose from the grave - Matt 27:28-32; Mark 15:21-16:8; Luke 23:44-24:8; John 19:16-20:29
  • Ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God - Luke 22:69; Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:6-11; Acts 7:54-56; Col 3:1
  • Will return to judge both the living and the dead and to fulfill the restoration of all things. - Matt 24:36-42; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11; Acts 10:39-42; 1 Peter 4:5

We believe in the Holy Spirit.

  • Actively at work in the world - John 16:5-15
  • Indwells Christians and empowers them to live transformed and Christ-like lives - 1 Cor 3:16, 12:4-11, 6:19; 2 Tim 1:14; Gal 5:16-25

We believe that the Church is the community of Christians everywhere.

  • Founded on the day of Pentecost and guided by the Holy Spirit - Acts 2:1-47
  • The Church is the body and bride of Christ that consists of unique local church communities that are part of the universal Church - Acts 14:27; 1 Cor 12:12-14; 2 Cor 11:2; Eph 1:22-23
  • The Church bears witness to the Kingdom of God through its communal life and practice - John 13:35; Acts 2:40-47

We believe that the Bible is the written word of God.

  • We recognize the Old and New Testaments as Christian Scripture.
  • We believe these Scriptures are God-breathed. - 2 Tim 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 14:26; 1 Cor 2:12-13
  • We believe the Bible is trustworthy, reliable, and authoritative for the life and practice of the Church. - Matt 5:18; John 16:12-15; Rom 16:25-28; Heb 1:1-3

We believe that humans were created to participate with God in His creation by bearing His image as a community of equals.

  • We are tasked with the stewardship of God’s good creation - Gen 1:26-28; Gen 2
  • Our fullest and truest identities are found in Christ - Gal 2:20; 2 Cor 5:17

We believe that sin is rebellion against God’s good order.

  • Sin dishonors God, causes disorder and destruction, and affects all parts of our daily lives. – Gen 3-11; Rom 5:12
  • Apart from Jesus, we are lost and without hope of salvation or restoration. - Acts 4:12, Rom 3:23

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith.

  • Grace is God’s movement toward us in love that prompts a response of faith, confession, repentance, baptism, and worship. - John 3:16-18; Eph 2:1-10; Acts 2:37-42, 20:21; Rom 2:4, 10:9, 12:1-2

  • At the time of resurrection and judgement, the saved will receive resurrection life in restored creation. The lost will receive eternal separation from God. – John 5:28-29, 6:39; Matt 25:31-46; 2 Cor 5:10; Rev 20:1-15

We believe that the Kingdom of God is already here yet not fully realized.
