New Community seeks God's guidance to impact our world with the message of Christ by celebrating His love, maturing His people and embracing all who come.

God has created the church with the purpose of impacting the world with the message of Christ. That message is one of love and compassion from God through Jesus Christ. At New Community, we have realized both the sorrow of disappointing God and the exhilaration of His presence and love. The love and compassion we have received from God is now the message we want others to realize as well. That mission is the driving force behind New Community Christian Church.


The people of New Community are diverse. While some have little or no history with a church, others have lived most of their lives as believers. This diversity creates a beautiful community of people who are all learning to follow God.


In 1998, the independent Christian Churches in Kansas decided to support a new church project in Salina in response to the citys significant growth. Understanding the city of Salina was at the heart of designing this church. The Bible gives clear guidelines concerning God’s desire for the church. However, within that Biblical design, God has created an environment in which the personality of people can shine through. Our hope was to create a church that remains faithful to Scripture while it reflects the character of its people.  We launched the church on March 28, 1999 and have continued a steady climb. Recently, we purchased and relocated to our facility at 530 E. Cloud.
